Right after getting knowledge on particular topic (e.g. pods), participants will use gained information to set up various applications on their own Kubernetes clusters. With every next step, tasks are becoming more challenging, but also more resembling real life problems and demonstrating Kubernetes potential in action.
The workshop aims to finally raise up fully fledged Jenkins ecosystem with externalized configuration and attached persistent storage.
To avoid sinking down only to technicalities, we will try to look a bit broader and say some words about Cloud Native principles, stressing where they fit in the evolution of application architecture.
Developer traveling mostly via JVM lands, armed in Java and Scala, fighting with Web App dragons and pursuing Big Data quests. And because every fairly tale dream finally comes to an end, so needed I to leave my cozy programming comfort zone and get my hands dirty with operations stuff. And thus, willy-nilly, I became DevOps, which in fact turned out not to be that bad at all.
